How you start your day has a huge impact on the rest of the day ahead. 5 Tips for a happy constructive life!
1. WATER
Water is number 1. After waking up, brush your teeth and drink at least 2 cups of good quality water. The Japanese, who are known as the most healthiest and long living nation on the earth, aim for 4 cups of 160 ml water to start each day, but I would start with at least 1 or 2 cups especially if you’ve never done it before so that the body system gets used to it. Water is a powerful cleanser of all bodily systems and water gets more and more recognition for being an amazing healer on it’s own.
You’ll be surprised to know how many people are chronically dehydrated on a daily basis and think it’s normal to feel like they do i.e. fatigued, tired and exhausted, thinking that is all to do with their activities, business life and environmental pollution… according to research this is not so. Hydration is the key to healthy and active life. And the best time to drink and replenish your body is first thing in the morning. Give it a go and see for yourself. Try it for at least 60-90 days to see the difference in your health and energy levels. Who would have thought that something as readily available to us as pure water could have such a big impact on our wellbeing?
2. MEDITATION
A little 5 minute meditation on positive affirmations every day prior to starting your busy life schedule is proven to make you feel less anxious and stressed about the day ahead. This saves you wasted energy to apply to your goals and be more level in your daily work/life routines.
Why not try these youtube meditations to get you started? I have found them to be useful
3. PLAN
Think of the day ahead and create a little plan of things you wish to do. And even when you complete 30-40% at the end of your day praise yourself. The more you do it the more productive you will be in the next days. Do not feel bad about not completing the list of things you set out to do at the start of the day. The most important thing is to start and be happy with little achievements that will propel you to do more and better in the future. Your mind will feel positive every time you finish and tick off one of the tasks on your list.
4. TAKE A MOMENT FOR YOURSELF
Find 5-10 minutes in a day to do something that gives you joy like a favorite hobby. Believe me even giving 5 minutes to what your soul is longing for will make you feel terrific and bring the best out of you.
5. CALM THE MIND REGULARLY
There is so much destruction in the modern world, and it’s hard to focus on the most important things. People find themselves easily frustrated, depressed and anxious. A lot of our issues are the result of our scattered thoughts. We are pulled in so many directions by the things we need to do, the people we need to take care of, kids errands and the list go on and on and on…
The best thing to do is try and calm the mind regularly throughout the day either using meditation or a little Qigong session for 10 minutes.
I have found this to be helpful and the videos below are a good start:
There is also a lovely explanation about Qigong here:
I found this talk very interesting and life changing to some extent.
Another good way to get rid of excessive stress, anxiety and negativity is Qigong Tapping
I found this talk very interesting and life changing to some extent.
These techniques have been used for centuries and proven to work but only if you exercise them regularly just like brushing your teeth.
Ok maybe not as regular as that J as I understand how busy our lives get sometimes with pointless things so finding that piece of mind for at least 10 minutes will affect your mood in a better more calm and focused way. Give it a try.
